Is food bought from store good enough to provide the needed nutrition to your felines?

Well, after doing some research it appears not. So we have decided to cook for our Mainecoons.

Unfortunatly, the food you buy in store is not monitored by FDA. So, pets food makers have freedom to do whatever will bring the most money in their pockets. Sadly, it might take you to get more money out of pocket than you think, with vet bills. So we decided to start cooking to make sure our furry family gets the nutrition they need.

We research on the subject, wondering if raw or cook meals is the best. We found out that both can be prepared. We have chosen cooked meals. We have found recipes that are simple to do. Yes it takes us time, but it is so worth it knowing our felines gets what they need.

Research shows that home cooking for your pets can alleviate certain health conditions such as; food allergies, diabetes, kidneys issues, urinary track infection, gum diseases, obesity....and so much more.

One of our Mainecoon has develop food allergies. Her condition got so bad, that even the hydrolyzed food from vet didn't help the condition. She was scratching so bad we had to give her antihistamine and apply cortison cream on her skin to alleviate the inflammation from the rash. She ended up with skin rash, scabs, and bald spots all over her head and neck. She was very uncomfortable and vet bills kept coming in.

We have started the home cooking, and within just a few meals our queen was already feeling and looking better. I was dumfounded. Continuing our home made meals, we discovered that our furry friends had much more energy and playfultimes times. It is a complete success.

When we started to feed the home cook meals we carefully chose recipes that was approved by vet dietician. We then, added slowly to their routine meals- first 20/80, 40/60, and now most get 80/20- it is a process that was of most rewarded for all of our furry friends.

Here is a link you can try from vet approved home cooked meals;

Let us know how that works for your furry friends.
